The Personnel Department is committed to empowering supervisors to confidently manage their teams. The purpose of the Core Supervisory Training program is to develop and refine the core skills needed to lead employees effectively, as well as to mitigate employer liability. Departments will nominate employees who hold a (first-line to management-level) supervisory position and would benefit by taking the Core Supervisory Training. The program (subject to change) currently consists of seven half-day modules held on the Zoom Platform and covers the following topics:

  • Module 1 - Role of the Supervisor & General Manager Panel
  • Module 2 - City 101 & City Authoritative Documents
  • Module 3 - Employee Engagement, Evaluations, Leadership, & Ethics
  • Module 4 - Safety, Ergonomics, & Workers’ Compensation
