The Board of Civil Service Commissioners is a City Charter created body of five members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council.

The Civil Service Commission meets on the Second and Fourth Thursdays of each month. During 2022 and 2023 the Board is scheduled to meet at 10:00 a.m. on the following Thursdays.
Meetings are held in the Personnel Department Building, 700 East Temple Street, Room 350, Los Angeles, California 90012.
For Civil Service Commission meetings, Sign Language Interpreters, assisted listening devices or other auxiliary aids and/or services may be provided upon request. To ensure availability, you are advised to make your request on the form attached at least 72 hours prior to the meeting you wish to attend. The Board’s regular meeting of November 11 will be cancelled in observance of the Veteran’s Day holiday.
A special meeting will be held on November 18.
The Board’s regular meeting of November 25 will be cancelled in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
The regular meeting of December 23 will be canceled due to the approaching Christmas holiday.
