The Certifications Unit receives requests from City departments to certify eligible lists and generates certification lists by utilizing NEOGOV, the online applicant tracking system. If you have questions regarding a Certification - Job Referral Notice you received, please contact the Hiring Department on your notice.

To obtain a copy of an eligible list you are currently on, or to know your rank on an eligible list, please email per.records@lacity.org. In the body of the email, please include your first and last name, the last four digits of your social security number, and the title of the examination.
The name of a probationer who has been terminated, has abandoned a position, or has resigned to avoid termination will be removed from the eligible list from which the appointment was made. The probationer may request reinstatement to the eligible list within five calendar days after resignation or termination. Email the completed form to per.certs@lacity.org
An employee who resigns after completion of probation may request restoration to the eligible list. The employee must have completed probation in the class to which restoration is requested. The period of separation must have been three years or less at the time the employee makes the request in writing. The employee makes a written request for restoration to the Personnel Director of the department in which he/she served.
To update the following selections of your application: Type of Appointment, Geographic Area, Department, or Shift, complete the Change of Availability form and email to per.certs@lacity.org.
