The City of Los Angeles' Information Technology Agency (ITA) is seeking to fill for an Administrative Intern I position.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position will provide administrative and clerical support to the various sections within the Financial, Administration, and Internal Operations Bureau.
Common duties include but are not limited to: assisting with processing purchase orders through the City’s financial management system; answering queries on the status of purchases/billings; assisting with preparing accounting documents, invoices and supporting related administrative processes; updating and maintaining monthly reports, expenditure reports, and other related reports; and supporting facilities management. This position will report to a Senior Management Analyst or Fiscal Systems Specialist, but the chosen candidate is expected to also accept feedback from colleagues on all work operations.
General Qualifications
- Completion of at least three years of education in a recognized four-year college or university is required.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written skills are desired.
- Proficiency in, or familiarity with, Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
Compensation
The rate of pay is $26.80 an hour. Please note that this position is not a permanent civil service position with the City of Los Angeles. Therefore, the position is not eligible for any employee benefits.
Note: This is an exempt, at-will position. The individual appointed to this position will not accrue civil service tenure, contractual employment rights, or due process rights. The incumbent may be removed, without any finding of cause, by the hiring authority. Upon hire, the selected candidate must show proof of identity and
legal right to work in the United States.
Work Schedule and Location
Working hours are expected to fall between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Administrative Intern is expected to work a regular schedule of 16 - 20 hours per week, but no more than 1,040 hours per year.
The reporting location of this position is City Hall East (200 Main Street, Los Angeles, CA).
