Requirements
Graduation from a recognized four-year college or university. Applicants must also have the legal right to
work in the United States. Applicants must have good knowledge and skill in Microsoft Office suite.
Applicants with experience or completed courses in accounting are preferred. Excellent organizational,
verbal and written skills required.
A valid California driver’s license and a good driving record may be required prior to appointment.
Responsibilities
The incumbent assigned to this position will support the Wastewater Conveyance Engineering Division’s
administrative support activities to include:
• Maintaining files for the Administrative Support Section.
• Filing records which must be cross-referenced to assure recovery based upon a variety of control
factors established by the Division Engineer.
• Updating and organizing files for records retention storage.
• Operating office machines and equipment to include request for service.
• Performs necessary arithmetic calculations and verifies accuracy of computations on invoices.
• Working with an electronic filing system for outgoing correspondence and record keeping, ensuring
the system is current, complete and all documents are easily accessible and filed.
• Prepare copies and distribute reports and correspondence.
• Assist in Division clerical activities when required and directed by management.
• The ability to communicate and work effectively with staff, City contractors and the general public.
