Minimum Experience Requirements: To qualify for this transfer opportunity, candidates must meet the following requirements:
• Must currently have a full-time, regular appointment as an Executive Administrative
Assistant with the City of Los Angeles or have status in the classification.
Summary of Duties:
The Executive Administrative Assistant II (EAA II) will provide administrative support to the
Deputy City Engineer who oversees the Los Angeles Convention Center Expansion and
Modernization Project.
The incumbent will act as the receptionist for the Deputy City Engineer
by screening telephone calls, recording messages, referring callers to the appropriate
personnel, responding to general inquiries, and responding to requests for information.
The
incumbent will maintain meeting calendars for the Deputy City Engineer by scheduling
appointments, arranging meetings, reserving meeting rooms, notifying participants, making
travel arrangements and accommodations, and arranging for travel/expense reimbursements,
when applicable.
The EAA II will be responsible for preparing letters, memorandums, reports, agendas,
confidential documents, and other documents. They will edit and format all typed documents
for clarity, sentence structure, spelling, and grammar. The incumbent will draft and type
routine correspondence and reports in response to general inquiries concerning the
operations of the Executive Division.
They are also responsible for receiving all incoming
Division mail, reading mail contents for appropriate routing, and forwarding select mail to the
Deputy City Engineer.
The EAA II will exercise considerable independent judgment in organizing, coordinating, and
performing administrative support work. They are also expected to handle highly sensitive
documents and will need to maintain the strict confidentiality of information obtained.
