The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Information Technology Services Division is filling two Systems Administrator II. These positions will be matrix to Power System to support the Power Construction Maintenance (PCM) group. The position will be located at JFB, 111 N. Hope St., 2nd Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90012. The available hours is 5/40 or 9/80 with a start time between 7:00 am to 9:00am. The duties of the position includes, but are not limited, to the following: 


Configure and maintain cyber security/NERC CIP (North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical
Infrastructure Protection) compliance hardware, system, and custom applications, such as those utilized for malicious code/communication protection, logging and alerting, vulnerability assessment, patch management, and baseline monitoring.
Install, configure, and manage various servers for the Test Lab, performance tuning of application and database servers. Develop, implement, ensure the integrity, security, and availability of application systems and their accompanying software.
Patch workstations and servers using their WSUS (Windows Server Update Service) server to import the patches and deploy.
Maintain VM infrastructure that supports System Protection & Controls CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) regulated and Non-CIP devices.
Patch HPE (Hewlett Packard Enterprise) server firmware, HPE Custom ESXi, VMware, and VMware Tool patches. Update, maintain and monitor Tripwire and McAfee/Trellix agents. 
Monitor Tripwire Log Center I QRadar and perform maintenance and migration activities as necessary.
May be required to report to other locations to perform daily work .

Candidates will be evaluated for the following work related skills, knowledge, abilities.

Experience with most of these technologies is highly desired: Linux, Windows, VMware, AD/DNS, SIEM, Endpoint Protection, Networking.
Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and programming including PowerShell scripting and basic .net framework applications.
Good understanding of NERC CIP v5 requirements and measures related to Change Management, Patch Management, and Security Controls.
Understand, follow, and document ITIL practices and established change management procedures to monitor, maintain and upgrade Power IT systems and applications.
Good technical knowledge of current and emerging technologies and standards in the IT infrastructure stack.
Ability to provide support in business-friendly and user-friendly manner in accordance with LADWP Equal Employment Opportunity policies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and adherence to workplace safety .

A valid California Driver's License is required and must be maintained during the course of employment. Overtime and some travel may be required.
