The Bureau of Contract Administration is seeking qualified candidates to fill several Management Analyst positions in the Office of Contract Compliance and Office of Wage Standards

 Office of Wage Standards

 The Office of Wage Standards (OWS) implements and enforces various labor standards and worker protection laws and continues to develop new policies to safeguard the interests of workers. OWS is hiring for positions in the areas of Investigation and Compliance and Hotel Worker Minimum Wage. These sections investigate complaints of wage underpayment and sick time violations and issues findings and assessments of wage and sick time restitution and penalties where applicable.  This section also negotiates settlement agreements with businesses to resolve cases, and works closely with the Office of the City Attorney to interpret and implement federal, state, and local laws. With the adoption of the City’s Hotel Worker Minimum Wage, this section will also begin investigating and enforcing the City’s Hotel Worker Minimum Wage.

Office of Contract Compliance

 The Office of Contract Compliance (OCC) ensures a level playing field for the contracting community. Through its work, the OCC promotes opportunities for small, local, and minority-owned businesses while safeguarding the interests of workers and facilitating training and job opportunities for local workers. OCC is hiring for positions in the Labor Compliance section. This section operates as a State certified Labor Compliance Program with enforcement authority granted by the state’s Department of Industrial Relations. It performs investigations and audits to ensure that construction workers on City funded construction projects are paid the required federal and state prevailing wage. It enforces the provision of apprenticeship training opportunities on those projects and also administers the provisions of Project Labor Agreements (PLA) to promote the hiring of local, transitional, and local apprentice workers.

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must meet the following requirements by the application deadline:

  • Currently be a Management Analyst in a regular appointment or have status in the classification (regular appointment).
