The Information Technology Services Division Power Matrix is filling one Systems Analyst II position to provide support to Power System, Energy Control Center (ECC). The duties of the position, includes but are not limited, to the following:

· Provides IT technical support and assists in LADWP’s Power System North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC CIP) Compliance Program including ECC Control Systems, Substation Automation System (SAS), Generation Control Systems, and High Voltage DC Control Systems.

· Coordinate with ECC Control Systems engineers, Substation and Generation personnel, ECC IT personnel, network engineers, and outside agencies to support critical power system infrastructure and applications including but not limited to VMWare, Windows operating systems, Linux operating systems, and Cyber Security systems.

· Provides guidance and advise users on Enterprise Cyber Security best practices and policies.

· Assists in the compliance of NERC CIP v5 requirements and measures and change management process. Assist in the development and maintenance of required documentation and evidence to meet NERC CIP requirements. Other miscellaneous duties as needed.

A valid California Driver’s license is required and must be maintained during the course of employment. Overtime and some travel may be required.

Candidates will be evaluated for the following work related skills, knowledge, abilities:

  • Strong experience in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems. Experience in these technologies are desired: Windows, Linux, VMware, AD/DNS, SAN/NAS, NetBackup, SharePoint, McAfee, Cybereason, Tripwire Cyber Integrity Suite, and RSA SecurID.
  • Good understanding of NERC CIP v5 requirements and measures related to cyber security that mitigate risk to BES Cyber Systems.
  • Understand, follow, and document ITIL practices and established change management procedures to monitor, maintain and upgrade ECC IT systems.
  • Knowledge of active cyber defense, vulnerability management, hardening and prevention techniques and best practices.
  • Familiarity with SELinux, host based firewalls, and network firewalls.
  • Resolve advanced technical problems and provide root cause analysis.
  • Good technical knowledge of current and emerging technologies and standards in the IT infrastructure stack.
  • Ability to provide support in business-friendly and user-friendly manner in accordance with LADWP EEO policies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and adherence to workplace safety.
