The duties of the position in PSO may include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing, reviewing, and processing all personnel related transactions for the Department's employment activities by interpreting and clarifying personnel rules, policies and procedures and authoritative documents such as the City Charter, Civil Service Rules, Administrative Manuals, and MOUs;
  • Processing new hire sign-ups including preparing sign-up packages, scheduling medical appointments, fingerprinting, and taking photos for identification cards;
  • Serving as liaison between Division Staff, City Personnel and other City Departments, coordinating release dates for transfers, reversions, and restorations, etc.;
  • Inputting Personnel Action Notice (PAN) information into HRMS and/or processing job changes in Workday;
  • Proofreading and distributing Form 41 documents to appropriate recipients and logging documents received from Employment Services and the Personnel Department;
  • Providing excellent customer service at the public counter, via telephone, e-mail, and fax to internal and external customers;
  • Providing assistance to the Employment Verification desk;
  • Providing assistance to the Employee Folder Room;
  • Reviewing and processing City Workday hiring transactions on behalf of LADWP;
  • Performing related duties for cross-training purposes and to meet operational needs.
A valid California driver’s license is required. Due consideration will be given to attendance record and previous experience. A performance test may be administered as part of the selection process.
