The Office of Los Angeles City Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez is seeking a capable and passionate candidate for the position of Case Manager in the District Office (DO). We’re looking for a dedicated individual who loves working with the community, has great customer service skills and who can multitask. We need someone who is emotionally mature, a good problem-solver, and an excellent communicator. We are looking for an individual who is ready and eager to join a very busy, hard-working team focused on getting things done for the District.
The ideal candidate should have experience with handling busy phone lines, a knowledge of or background in city government, demonstrated an excellent ability to communicate in writing, be detailed-oriented and a self-starter, have good judgment, be a great team player and a strong ability to achieve established goals.
Main duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Answering main phone line and voice messages received in the District Office
- Providing assistance and direction to constituents that seek services in person at the District Office
- Receiving, directing constituent requests and cases to field deputies, as well as responsible for managing some cases directly
- Ensuring that case management data base is up to date
- Receiving and responding to correspondence or directing it to the appropriate staff
- Assisting operations staff in maintaining inventory of office supplies/equipment in District Offices
This position will be located in either the Echo Park or Hollywood district office
Ideal qualifications include:
- 1+ years experience working as a case worker or case manager with an elected office
- Willing to to attend events/meetings outside of business hours
- Current California Driver’s License and auto insurance are necessary for occasional assignments requiring use of city vehicles
The position is full-time and exempt from civil service. Salary range is $64,000 - $70,000, commensurate with experience.
