The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
• Create web applications using IT Service Management platform’s such as ServiceNow and Salesforce to support the Economic & Workforce Department’s (EWDD) divisional information system needs; responsible for creating applications in complementary Customer Relationship Management (CRM) languages such as .NET, Java, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, CSS, PHP, C++, Apex, X++; perform application development including design, coding, testing, debugging and troubleshooting; reviews code for errors, inefficiencies, and security vulnerabilities. Develop & administrate relational databases to support business enterprise applications according to project requirements for data acquisition and security as well as department-defined deliverables.
• Perform analysis, design, and development according to Systems Development Life Cycle; meet with division leads and upper management to gather business requirements for the development of technical specifications and system solutions; communicate and maintain relations with City Information Technology Agency to ensure that developed systems meet City standards and policies; provides updates and reports to senior management; identify opportunities for software improvements or new product development.
• Manage application development team responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and operation of the Economic & Workforce Development Department's information and databases systems; creates timelines, sets goals, assigns tasks and manages resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Assist users with troubleshooting issues and resolving problems related to computer applications; create instructional materials, such as user guides, tutorials, and FAQs, to help users understand and effectively use applications; develop classroom-based training curricula, when necessary, to provide comprehensive instruction on application usage and best practices.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation of all locally developed software; perform source code management.
