BACKGROUND
The Los Angeles City Fire Department has a transfer opportunity for a Management Analyst, 9184. The Class position will be assigned to the Department’s Equity and Human Resources Bureau.

WORK SCHEDULE
The Los Angeles City Fire Department offers 5/40 and 9/80 work schedules and has implemented a hybrid telecommuting program which allows some classifications a minimum of two (2) in-office workdays per week, and on the remaining workdays, employees may telecommute. The specific in-office days are flexible and will be coordinated with Executive Management. The hybrid telecommuting program is subject to change.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Assistant Chief, the Class performs the following duties:
  • Gather and extract data from human resources databases, other sections of the Equity Bureau, and other Bureaus as needed. Provide quantitative and qualitative analysis of data, in the form of graphs, charts and narrative reports: provide written and verbal reports regarding recommendations, ongoing status, issues and challenges based on analysis of data.
  • Act as a liaison to the Department’s Administrative Services Bureau on contractual, budget, and personnel matters; prepare contract documents, budget reports and hiring documents as needed; monitor Bureau’s budget; and prepare correspondence as needed.
  • Develop tracking strategies to monitor and evaluate the impact and return on investment of initiatives; design and implement metrics and devise ongoing measures that support the evolution of diversity; and review data provided by other Bureaus or Sections to assess the impact and effectiveness of diversity and inclusion programs.
  • Other duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS
Per City Bulletin
  • Familiar with all Microsoft and Google platforms
  • Ability to work in collaboration with both sworn and civilian staff of the Fire Department
