The candidate of the position is required to perform but not limited to the following duties:
Repairing and rebuilding both components and sub-assemblies on all construction equipment; perform BIT inspections as required by the State of California Highway Patrol; operate equipment both to move to work location and test operations to diagnose trouble. Repairs include exchanging overhauled transmissions, replacing clutches, overhauling control valves, rebuilding hydraulic cylinders, in addition to repairing engines. Perform scheduled critical safety item inspections when required.
Research maintenance and parts manuals on the various equipment maintained by the Division. Writing store requisitions, collaborations with SMS personnel and vendors to locate needed repair parts.
Update equipment repair data in the automated Vehicle Management System.
