Directs a staff of professional, technical and clerical personnel in providing a variety of administrative or support services for the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS); performs the more difficult work relating to budget, contracts and administrative services; receives assignments in terms of broad objectives and is responsible for the presentation of reports and recommendations upon which policy decisions are based; applies sound supervisory principles and techniques in building and maintaining an effective work force; fulfills equal employment opportunity responsibilities; and performs related work.
In the Contracts and Support Services Division, the Senior Management Analyst I position reports to a Senior Management Analyst II and personally performs, as well as plans and organizes the work of employees engaged in, the following:
· Development and management of Requests for Proposals, Bids, Qualifications and other solicitations to meet the Department’s contracting needs;
· Ensuring compliance of the contracting process with all City and legally-mandated requirements;
· Processing and tracking of contract invoices, Authority for Expenditures (AFE) and piggyback requests to ensure continuity of services; and
· Preparation of reports, presentations and other media related to the Department’s contracting activities.
In the Budget and General Administrative Services Division the Senior Management Analyst I positions report to a Senior Management Analyst II and performs, plans, organizes and supervises the work of employees engaged in the following:
· Preparing the Department’s Annual Budget;
· Administering Grants used by LADBS;
· Coordinating facilities management;
· Preparing statistics and reports for management;
· Purchasing and receiving good and materials
REQUIREMENT/MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Must be a current City employee with two years of full-time paid experience as a Management Analyst or in a class at that level which provides professional experience in administrative, financial, grants, legislative, or personnel work.
