Duties:
The Police Psychologist I conducts clinical evaluations, psychotherapy, field consultation, and develops and executes instruction on a variety of subjects to Department personnel. Psychologists also develop health promotion materials on various psychological, behavioral, social, and lifestyle-related topics. Other opportunities exist to provide operational consultation, develop health interventions, and conduct research. Psychologists rotate weekly on-call responsibilities during evenings and weekends at which time they may respond to the field for unusual occurrences, employee crises, and as a consultant on the Department’s SWAT Crisis Negotiation Team.

Requirements:
1. A doctoral degree in psychology from an APA-accredited program; and
2. A valid license to practice psychology issued by the California Board of Psychology; and
3. A valid California driver’s license.
