The Los Angeles
Department of Water and Power,
Information Technology Services Division is filling two Programmer Analyst Ill
positions in the IT Water Matrix, Applications Section. The position will be located
at 233 S. Beaudry Avenue, 12th Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90012. The available hours is 5/40 or 9/80 with a start time between
6:30am to 8:00am. The duties of the position
includes, but are not limited,
to the following:
•
Responsible for
support, maintenance, security, availability, upgrade, and operation of the
Water System's eRespond Water Outage Management System, Water Information
Network (WIN), various Water specific APEX/BI/BIP/.NET applications/reports, and other applications
utilized by Water Division sections and employees.
•
Develops, designs, supports, tests, and implements new software
and updates to existing Water
Division applications using programming languages, development tools, web-based
frameworks, and middleware
including, but not limited to,
ColdFusion, C#, Python, PHP, .NET framework and ASP.NET extensions, Blazor, SOL
Server, T-SQL, Java, JavaScript/jQuery, AJAX,
HTML5, and XML Web Services/SOAP/REST
• Codes and debugs application enhancements and fixes.
•
Prepare documents for the maintenance of current systems and develops plans for future upgrades.
•
Prepare technical system documentation and flowcharts of business processes, follows uniformity in design architecture, and follows best
practices for programming in order to improve existing processes.
•
Coordinate with department staff and contractors for system maintenance, configuration changes, system
implementations and upgrades, interface
changes, and regular maintenance.
•
Interacting with users, management
and contract vendors and conducts
training.
• May be assigned to support
other systems based on business
needs.
•
May be required
to report to a different LADWP
location to perform regular duties.
A valid California Driver's license is required and must be maintained during the course of employment. Overtime and some travel may be required.
Candidates will be evaluated
for the following work
related skills, knowledge, and abilities:
·
Knowledge and
programming experience developing, testing, and maintaining applications in Windows
and Linux environments with programming languages including, but not limited to, Microsoft
.NET, ASP.NET, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, HTML5, ColdFusion, SOL Server
(MSOL), Oracle (PL/SOL,) and XML Web Services/SOAP/REST.
•
Knowledge and experience
with web content management systems, Oracle
and SOL Server databases, reporting tools, and middleware applications.
•
Knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity standards, such as OWASP, as it relates to web & mobile application programming, database,
reporting, integration, and configuration.
•
Knowledge and
experience in configuring and
implementing packaged systems, building interfaces
to existing DWP systems, or integrating multiple Enterprise Systems via API or other methods.
•
Strong problem-solving skills to analyze and develop technical and business
solutions.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally
and in writing.
