This is a tentative transfer opportunity. Under Rules of the Civil Service Commission Sections 1.38(b) and 6.3, a tentative transfer is available only to employees who have completed their probationary period and is made on a trial basis for a maximum of six (6) months, with the employee's written approval. During that period, the receiving department may, upon written notice to the employee, the General Manager, and the employee's current department, return the employee to the department and class from which they came; if no return occurs within six months of the effective date, the transfer becomes final. By applying, you acknowledge that this placement is not permanent until the six-month tentative period has elapsed without return to your prior department and class.
